All about me!Mrs. Lopez has been teaching for 24 years. She started her teaching career as a 3rd grade teacher at Columbine Elementary in Denver Public Schools. There, she fell in love with the library and its potential for inspiration. After 6 years in Denver Public Schools (3 of which in the library), she left to become the Teacher Librarian at Ponderosa Elementary School in Cherry Creek School District for her next 15 years in education. Being a Teacher Librarian defined for me what it is to be a creative and inspiring facilitator of learning. I then had the privilege of teaching 2nd graders online for the Elevation K-5 Online School. This was an amazing experience which I will cherish for the rest of my teaching career. This year, I am back to being a librarian (yay!) at Falcon Creek Middle School.

On a more personal note ...
I love any type of story telling; movies, books, theatre, you name it. I absolutely love musicals (and performed in a few long ago). I also love comic book stories (I'm a Marvel girl, although Wonder Woman is my hero). My favorite type of book to read is historical fiction and fantasy (I am a Ravenclaw, after all).
I have a husband that is a middle school teacher and a daughter who is in high school (I can't believe it). We also have a furry family member - Gracie the Cat.
